Gyrocopter – autogyro – gyroplane – gyro

Keep them spinning!

Flying a gyrocopter is fantastic. It is easy to control and because of its spectacular agility you can fly extreme manoeuvres, as well as flying very precisely. At the same time, certificated autogyros, with a robust construction navigated by trained and qualified pilots, are notably safe.

The prototype, which was named autogiro, was piloted for the first time on the 9th of January 1923 by its inventor, the Spanish engineer, Juan de la Cierva. In contrast to a helicopter, the lift is generated by a rotor in autorotation. Once started, it is controlled by the amount of inflow air from below.

The engine serves only for the propulsion of the rotor. Reduction of engine power increases the descent rate, though the autogyro remains fully stable and floats slowly to the ground.

The gyrocopter is so safe to fly that it is not affected by turbulences. For that reason it can take-off and land under almost all weather conditions. Therefore it can be used all year round. Just experience that unbelievable feeling and sign up for a gyrocopter flight.
